Robert Rodriguez’ follow-up of his vengeance-seeking anti-hero ‘Machete’ Cortez will roll before cameras in Texas next month. THN has already confirmed Mel Gibson will play the crazed, bad-ass villain for sequel MACHETE KILLS, alongside returnees Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez.
Further casting news comes in the form of another couple of beauties, as Amber Heard has signed on to appear as ‘sexy assassin’ Miss San Antonio. Heard has previously appeared in head-twisting cult-slasher ALL THE GIRLS LOVE MANDY LANE, DRIVE ANGRY 3D and most recently opposite Johnny Depp in THE RUM DIARY. She is also slated to star in revenge-thriller MOTOR CITY with Gerard Butler. You can also add MODERN FAMILY actress Sofia Vergara, who will star as Madame Desdemona, the femme fatale with intelligence on Machete’s new target.
CHE and WEEDS star Demian Bichir will also join them, although the role of the Mexican actor is currently unknown. Bichir will next be seen in Oliver Stone’s all-star drug-fuelled thriller SAVAGES.
