Joseph Gordon-Levitt is allegedly eyeing the lead role in a remake of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. Originally a low-budget black comedy released in 1960, LSOH featured a nerdy florist who is forced to feed a carnivorous talking plant. The film became a cult classic and spawned an off-Broadway musical which in turn inspired the 1986 remake starring Rick Moranis. JGL is in talks to take on the role of Seymour who must kill in order to feed his new houseplant.
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS will be produced by Marc Platt, the creative force behind the musical Wicked, as well as feature films LEGALLY BLONDE, DRIVE and SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD. Writer of Broadway musical and all-round hot mess Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, is currently working on a script.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt will next been seen in Christopher Nolan’s THE DARK KNIGHT RISES which hits cinemas this July.
