He’s the mastermind behind HBO’s dark but hilarious comedy series EASTBOUND & DOWN and now Jody Hill is in charge of a potential movie reboot for THE DUKES OF HAZZARD. The cult action-comedy series ran from 1979-85 and featured the exploits of cousins Bo, Luke and Daisy Duke, who along with their Uncle Jesse and Dodge Charger vehicle ‘General Lee’ try to run rings around the authorities of Hazzard County. A movie version was released in 2005 and starred Seann William Scott, Johnny Knoxville and Jessica Simpson but with pretty dire results.
Although the project in currently ‘Untitled’ and is being described as ‘an action-comedy set in the American South’, sources claim Warner Bros want Hill to use the template to reboot the series and recent movie for a potential franchise. Hill’s previous big-screen directorial efforts THE FIST FOOT WAY and OBSERVE & REPORT, share the same dark humour as his current hit series starring Danny McBride.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
