Dave Grohl Set For Directorial Debut With ‘Sound City’

Everyone knows about Abbey Road and The Beatles but now Rock legend Dave Grohl will be getting behind the camera to direct SOUND CITY, a documentary that will focus on the famous Van Nuys studio in LA where the likes of Nirvana, Guns and Roses, Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty and more have recorded over the years gone by. Sound City Studios were founded in 1969 and music history runs right through its walls and recording studios. Grohl also had this to say about the process and his feelings:

“[It will] document a personal journey beginning 20 years ago that culminates in a full circle musical reunion,” Grohl continued “SOUND CITY is film about the truth, the craft and the integrity of rock and roll.”

The film will feature interviews with musicians and producers who’ve recorded there over the decades. Grohl first recorded there in 1991 when Nirvana made that reasonably well known, Nevermind. We’re expecting some very in-depth conversations and stories and frankly, can’t wait to see what the big man comes up with.
