Chloe Moretz is surely one of film’s brightest rising stars. The 15-year-old actress first made her name as precocious little madam in (500) DAYS OF SUMMER, then cemented her star status by taking names and kicking ass, in… er, KICK ASS. And with a promising turn lined up for Tim Burton’s DARK SHADOWS, Moretz’s rise to fame looks set to rocket even further.
Below is the trailer for Moretz’s upcoming HICK, based on the novel by Andrea Portes and from celebrated indie director Derick Martini. Moretz stars as Luli, a Nebraska girl who runs away to Vegas only to find herself in a heap of trouble: crime violence, and questionable relations with older gentlemen. Yes, there is certain ‘Lolita’ feel to the whole thing. Either way, it looks gritty, edgy and undeniably interesting.
HICK co-stars Blake Lively, Eddie Redmayne, Alec Baldwin, Juliette Lewis and Rory Culkin. It arrives in cinemas later this year.
