If you enjoy suspenseful thrillers, take a peek at the clip below. It is from Dominik Moll’s upcoming film THE MONK, which is an adaptation of Matthew Gregory Lewis’ novel of the same name, and it stars the smolderingly brilliant Vincent Cassel (SATAN, MESRINE).
Cassel portrays Ambrosio, who is a famous Capuchin Friar admired by all for his virtue, self discipline and motivational speaking. However, his purified persona begins to unravel slowly as his hedonistic urges take over, and the arrival of the mysterious, but intriguing, Valerio, proves to be one of the main triggers in breaking his spirit.
Moll and Cassel’s interpretation of Ambrosio is very different to that of Lewis’, but team Cassel and Moll do bring their own style and dimensions to the character, rendering THE MONK an enthralling watch.
THE MONK opens in UK cinemas this Friday 27th April.
