After headlining Steven Soderbergh’s all-star action ensemble HAYWIRE, most of us were left wondering just how far MMA athlete and now ass-kicking movie heroine Gina Carano would go in Hollywood. Up until now, she has only signed on for John Stockwell’s thriller IN THE BLOOD, but she maybe about to join a major movie series: the box-office FAST & FURIOUS hit franchise.
Heatvision is reporting that Carano is currently in negotiations to showcase her impressive skills in a sixth outing for the series that last year, had it’s biggest box-office and critical hit yet. If she signs on the dotted line, Carano will join regulars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster and Tyrese Gibson. Dwayne Johnson, whose appearance in FAST & FURIOUS 5 was both the film’s highlight and clever coup, will also return for the follow-on that was teased during in the closing credits. Director Justin Lin and screenwriter Chris Morgan will both return for this fifth sequel which hits cinemas next summer.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
