‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Gets An Entertainment Weekly Outing

With 99 days until the release – we’re not counting down honest – of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, Entertainment Weekly have treated us all with a Cover shot and spread (oo-er) for this summer’s ultimate blockbuster. The images are just below for you to enjoy and we’ve also got some insight from a couple of the main protagonists:

So what did we learn? First up, Bane and Nolan states:

“He represents formidable physical strength, combined with absolute evil of intention.”

Whilst Tom Hardy – Bane himself – does touch upon the voice, which has caused some controversy and concern amongst fans. Indeed Hardy has one worry:

“It’s a risk, because we could be laughed at — or it could be very fresh and exciting…the audience mustn’t be too concerned about the mumbly voice…as the film progresses, I think you’ll be able to tune to its setting.”

So we’ve got a mumbling hard-nut as the main villain, but what of Selena Kyle?

“She has a very strong way of protecting herself and those she cares about, which implies an underlying darkness.”

Is what Nolan says, Hathaway meanwhile focuses on her work to get into character and the physicality of the role:

“I had to physically transform…Chris sat me down at the beginning and said, ‘Joseph Gordon-Levitt did all of his own fighting in INCEPTIONI basically left his office and went to the gym and just came out about five minutes ago.”

The Joseph Gordon Levitt image has got us the most intrigued but as much is given away as you’d expect from a Christopher Nolan film and it’s all got us very, very excited for 20th July when Bale dons his Bat-suit for one last time.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is released in theatres 20th July
