Joseph Gordon-Levitt has dropped out of Tarantino’s spaghetti western DJANGO UNCHAINED due to scheduling conflicts. The INCEPTION star was due to appear in a small supporting role but has pulled out in order to complete his directorial debut.
Gordon-Levitt confirmed his absence when speaking to MTV News: ‘No, I’m not going to get to do [DJANGO UNCHAINED]. I’d love to, but it just doesn’t work.’
Instead, the actor will be directing and starring in DON JON’S ADDICTION with Scarlett Johansson and Julianne Moore. The film is described as ‘The journey of a contemporary Don Juan-type as he attempts to become less selfish.’ Gordon-Levitt will next be seen in Christopher Nolan’s THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.
Tarantino’s DJANGO UNCHAINED is still shooting and stars Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio. If you don’t already know, the story follows a slave-turned-assassin who sets out to rescue his captured wife.
