Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger prison-escape thriller THE TOMB, has just cast a further four well-known faces for some of the roles of major supporting players. Joining the muscle-bound superstar duo, alongside the previously announced Jim Caviezel, will be FULL METAL JACKET’s Vincent D’Onofrio, GONE BABY GONE Oscar-nominee Amy Ryan, Brit hardman Vinnie Jones and sadly for us action fans, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson.
THE TOMB will be directed by Mikael Hafstrom, the Swedish filmmaker responsible for Stephen King’s 1408, religious horror THE RITE and the Clive Owen/Jennifer Aniston thriller DERAILED. The film set to begin shooting soon, is expected next summer. Stallone and Schwarzenegger will also return together for action-sequel THE EXPENDABLES 2 in August.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
