TRUE BLOOD star Alexander Skarsgard is aiming to conquer the big screen, just as he has with the small with number of stand-out turns in recent and forthcoming features. After appearing in significant roles in last year’s STRAW DOGS remake and Lars Von Trier’s MELANCHOLIA, the Swedish-native will next be seen alongside Taylor Kitsch and Liam Neeson in Peter Berg’s alien-actioner BATTLESHIP.
News today has Skarsgard signing on for Warner Bros’ debut feature HIDDEN, which comes from their newly formed genre label Primal Pictures. He will headline the horror/thriller about a family, holed up in a bomb shelter after escaping an outbreak of a deadly disease. Twin brothers Matt and Ross Duffer will adapt their own screenplay, for a release expected late next year.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
