Sandler’s Jack And Jill Clears Up At The Razzies

As expected, one of the lowest of the lowbrow comedies of 2011, JACK AND JILL, dominated the proceedings at Sunday night’s Golden Raspberry awards ceremony. Although, very few predicted it would be picking up all of the accolades. The razzies have coincided with the Academy awards for just over thirty years, honouring those films that fill you with dread and suicidal thoughts because of how mind-numbingly awful they are.

Adam Sandler – who co-wrote the screenplay, and portrayed both the titular characters – should be heartbroken. It is not as if 2011 happened to be a fantastic year for film, and that JACK AND JILL was just the worst of a great bunch; it was the worst film from a series of terrible films, including the likes of TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON, BIG MOMMAS: LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON, and TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 1. Check out the comprehensive list of categories, nominees and winners (in bold) below…

Martin has been a film buff (or geek, if you prefer) for as long as he can remember. However, he lives and longs for storytelling of all kinds, and writes across numerous mediums to feed his insatiable appetite. He lives in north-west London, and his favourite films are, possibly: PAN'S LABYRINTH, THEY LIVE, PSYCHO, HIGH FIDELITY, ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, STAND BY ME, SIDEWAYS and OFFICE SPACE.
