As MIRROR MIRROR gets its UK release this week, here’s a look at the UK version of the trailer.
This version seems to be slightly longer than the others we’ve seen, managing to include some stunning ‘landscape’ shots and more of Julia Roberts’ superb acting. Also, this is the first of two Snow White reinvention films of 2012, so MIRROR MIRROR will be going up against the Kristen Stewart-led SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN (released in June).
Tarsem Singh (THE IMMORTALS) takes the reigns in this slightly more comedic version of the fairytale, where Snow White (Lily Collins) befriends seven dwarves to help thwart the Evil Queen (Julia Roberts). Also along for the ride is Prince Andrew Alcott (Armie Hammer), who cannot decide between the spiteful, debt-ridded Queen or ‘hair as black as night’ Snow White.
The film had its release in America on 30th March, 2012 and opened behind THE HUNGER GAMES and WRATH OF THE TITANS, bringing in $18.1 million over its opening weekend.
MIRROR MIRROR, directed by Tarsem Singh and starring Lily Collins, Julia Roberts and Armie Hammer, is out in cinemas now.
