First Look At Daniel Radcliffe As Allen Ginsberg In Kill Your Darlings

Here is our first look at Daniel Radcliffe as Allen Ginsberg, getting cosy with CHRONICLE star Dane DeHaan.

The HARRY POTTER and WOMAN IN BLACK actor will be playing the bespectacled and brilliant poet in next year’s KILL YOUR DARLINGS. Written and directed by John Krokidas (in his feature film debut), the movie concerns the murder of David Kammerer and the subsequent effect on the New York Beat Generation. It stars Radcliffe as Ginsberg, Dane DeHaan as Lucien Carr, Elizabeth Olsen (MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE) as Edie Parker, Jack Huston (TWILIGHT: ECLIPSE) as Parker’s husband Jack Kerouac, Ben Foster (RAMPERT) as William Burroughs and Michael C. Hall (DEXTER) as the murdered Kammerer.

It’s a well documented case, but we shall avoid any details which may count as spoilers to what should be a fascinating modern/historical drama. The Beat Generation provided some of the most pivotal and inspirational literary works of the last sixty years, including Ginsberg’s ‘Howl,’ Kerouac’s ‘On The Road’ and Burrough’s ‘Naked Lunch.’ Ginsberg was recently portrayed by James Franco in the experimental drama/documentary HOWL, giving a powerful and underrated performance. Radcliffe has a lot to live up to, but looks just as convincing. And he still be rockin’ those specs.

You can see the greatest minds of a generation getting destroyed by madness when KILL YOUR DARLINGS hits the big screens in 2013
