The highly anticipated adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s generation-defining ON THE ROAD gave us a trailer last week but today a new character poster featuring Viggo Mortensen has hit the Facebook page. He’s set to play Old Bull Lee who, in real life, was based on the iconic William S. Burroughs.
In the book Old Bull Lee is a morphine addict and, to quote Kerouac: “Let’s just say now, he was a teacher.” This poster plays on that phrase, so have a look for yourselves:
ON THE ROAD is directed by Walter Salles and also stars Sam Riley, Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Stewart, Amy Adams, Tom Sturridge, Alice Braga, Elizabeth Moss, Danny Morgan and Kirsten Dunst. It’s set for release on September 21st.
