After Stephen Sommers’ lukewarm franchise opener failed to blow action fans away, the budget-heavy franchise needed a new lease of life. Whoever was responsible for hiring the director of Justin Bieber documentary NEVER SAY NEVER to helm a sequel as well as recruiting both Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis, was either making an inspired decision and/or sniffing glue. Either way, it is sure to huge summer smash, as both Johnson and Willis are currently seeing a resurgence in their careers.
Here we have an assortment of images coming from G.I. JOE: RETALIATION, which is directed by Jon M. Chu. Returning for action (from the first film) will be Channing Tatum, Jonathan Pryce, Byung-hun Lee and Ray Park alongside newbies Adrianne Palicki, Ray Stevenson and Arnold Vosloo. The film hits cinemas 22nd June.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
