Jack Bauer’s return, from the small-screen to the silver screen, now appears to have been delayed yet again. The hugely successful television series 24 has been at the movie development stage since the show ended. Keifer Sutherland had been rumoured to return and late last year Keifer and Fox confirmed a big-budget action epic featuring Sutherland’s terrorist hunting hero Bauer, would begin shooting April or May in 2012.
Unfortunately fans eager to see Bauer back in action will have to wait a little longer, possibly even a year, as a cautious Fox (who slashed the budget significantly), decided seven weeks to prepare the movie just isn’t enough. This has angered star Sutherland, who has seen the project put on the back-burner countless times.
Tony Scott was due the helm the project the last time it was delayed, causing him to vacate the movie. Fox were known to have been circling TRAINING DAY’s Antoine Fuqua as a replacement. So for the moment 24: THE MOVIE, appears to be on pause.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
