Hugh Hefner Biopic Being Adapted At Warner Bros.

The Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner has had a biopic surrounding very colourful life, rumoured for a very long time now. In recent years, reality television shows and appearances in music videos as well as the odd movie cameo, has seen his legendary status cemented even with this new generation.

The Playboy brand is now bigger than ever, making a biopic all the more likely, which Warner Bros. and producer Jerry Weintraub are now looking to exploit. There is currently no writer or director attached to the project but rumours are that HARRY POTTER scribe Steve Kloves, has been approached to adapt Hefner’s rise to fame. Director Brett Ratner had previously tried to bring Hefner’s story to the big-screen so he maybe one the studio may look at.

There are currently no shortage of biopics in the works over at Hollywood, with the likes of director Alfred Hitchcock, baseball icon Jackie Robinson and two currently-shooting features focusing on the tragic life of porn star Linda Lovelace.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
