British beefcake Jason Statham returns to cinemas on the 4th May with the action-thriller SAFE, and here we have the new television trailer. Statham plays Luke Wright, a former elite special agent who becomes embroiled in saving a young Chinese girl kidnapped by Japanese Triads.
He then embarks on a (head and) safe-cracking mission to try and outwit Russian Mafia, corrupt cops as well as the Triads responsible for the girls abduction. Fans of Statham may want to take a look, as it appears it could be his best role in years.
SAFE is written and directed by Boaz Yakin and co-stars Chris Sarandon, Catherine Chan, Anson Mount, James Hong and Robert John Burke.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
