Let’s be honest, it doesn’t matter what they call it, at this stage anticipation for THE AVENGERS – sorry, MARVEL AVENGERS ASSEMBLE – is at soiling-yourself levels.
The official UK name change for the movie has reportedly been influenced by concerns that Brit audiences will confuse the film with the 1960s TV show and subsequent 1998 film (don’t ask). Whilst this seems unlikely and quite frankly a little ridiculous – and let’s be fair, we’ve been fully aware of the impending THE AVENGERS since 2008’s IRON MAN – it doesn’t change the fact that we’re all super excited for the ensemble blockbuster.
MARVEL AVENGERS ASSEMBLE is directed by Joss Whedon and stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, and Samuel L. Jackson. It arrives in UK cinemas 26th April.
