Fans of J.J. Abrams’ STAR TREK reboot will no doubt be waiting anxiously to see where his currently-shooting sequel takes the crew of the Starship Enterprise this time. Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto are back as Kirk and Spock along with the likes of Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho and Anton Yelchin as the respective Uhura, Bones, Scotty, Sulu and Chekov. Bruce Greenwood also returns but the new villains come in the form of SHERLOCK and WAR HORSE star Benedict Cumberbatch as well as ROBOCOP himself, Peter Weller.
Here we have the first images from the set of the film that will be in cinemas 17th May 2013. Alice Eve, Noel Clarke, Nazneen Contractor and Tom Archdeacon also feature. As always on a J.J. Abrams film, the plot details are being kept well under wraps.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
