A Promising Cast Lines Up For ‘Jamesy Boy’

First time writer and director Trevor White is assembling quite a cast for his debut feature, JAMESY BOY. Newcomer Spencer Lofranco will play the young  ‘James’, whose involvement with low-level street gangs, eventually ends with him doing ‘hard-time’ in a maximum security prison. A friendship develops over time with a fellow inmate, and one who happens to be a convicted murderer; he takes the youngster under his wing, as a father figure and mentor. Showing James a positive way to live his life and ultimately change the path he had previously chosen.

WEEDS and RED actress Mary Louise Parker will also star alongside fellow seasoned pro’s James Woods and Ving Rhames. Woods is always watchable and chewed-up scenery as the best thing in the recent STRAW DOGS remake. Rhames is reliable as a supporting star. Whether giving career best performances in the likes of PULP FICTION and corrupt cop thriller DARK BLUE or less-serious and enjoyable fare as with DAWN OF THE DEAD and PIRANHA.

JAMESY BOY will begin shooting in Baltimore on 4th March with a release expected for early next year. So Unfortunately not a not a spin-off of Rab C. Nesbitt’s fellow drinking buddy.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
