It’s such a shame Christian Slater’s descent into straight-to-DVD obscurity, happened so rapidly. After terrific turns in the likes of TRUE ROMANCE, HEATHERS and MURDER IN THE FIRST, more recent and disappointing titles range from HOLLOW MAN 2, DOLAN’S CADILLAC and Uwe Boll’s dreadful ALONE IN THE DARK. Here is hoping Slater’s latest ‘found-footage’ horror PLAYBACK, does not suffer the same fate. Here we have the new red band trailer for the film, which appears to be quite brutal and graphic, so for those who are squeamish or of a nervous disposition, look away now!.
PLAYBACK is due in US cinemas 9th March but as yet there is currently no release set for the UK. Joining Slater, will be Tobey Hemingway, Ambyr Childers, Johnny Pacer and is written and directed by Michael A. Nickles.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
