A terrifying announcement to most I’m sure, Marlon Wayans should not be in charge of anything, but someone has decided to do just that. Having featured in a number of his brother Keenan Ivory Wayans dreadful atrocities, (the lowest being LITTLE MAN surely), Marlon will co-direct (alongside Mike Tiddes) a spoof of the ‘found footage’ genre. Shooting on SMART ASS has just gotten under-way with Essence Atkins set to headline.
It seems an eternity since Wayans gave a brilliant performance as heroin addict Tyrone, in Darren Aronofsky’s REQUIEM FOR A DREAM. Roles in DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, NORBIT and DANCE FLICK have become painful to watch but hits with the SCARY MOVIE franchise and WHITE CHICKS have become critic-proof at the box-office, going on the gross millions. Still for us men, the aforementioned unfunny disasters are the closest some of us have come to experience the pain of childbirth.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
