Neil Jordan’s first return to the vampire genre after bringing Anne Rice’s INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE to the big-screen has just wrapped. Here we have the first image of THE LOVELY BONES and HANNA star Saoirse Ronan in BYZANTIUM.
The film will see Ronan and Gemma Arterton appear as a bloodsucking daughter and mother who form a deadly pact after fleeing the scene of a violent crime. An impressive supporting cast have also been involved with Caleb Landry Jones, Jonny Lee Miller, Sam Riley, Tom Hollander and Daniel Mays, joining them.
The film has been adapted by Moira Buffini from her own play A VAMPIRE STORY. There is currently no release date scheduled but it is expected, before the years end.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
