Uniting two leading men that more often than not hit the mark, Allen Hughes’ gripping thriller BROKEN CITY appears to be right up my street. The film centres on New York City Mayor Nicholas Hostetler (Russell Crowe), who decides to hire Mark Wahlberg’s ex-cop turned private detective Billy Taggart to trail his suspicious wife, played by Catherine Zeta Jones. However, Taggart is soon in over his head as his investigation reaches inside the dark, murky political world of his employer.
