INSIDIOUS is a film that has been gathering dust on my Blu-ray shelf that hasn’t had the pleasure of being inserted into the player since I bought it, but I’ve heard good things about the James Wan-directed, and Leigh Whannell-scripted low budget horror. The most impressive thing is that the film grossed a whopping $100 million from a budget of just $1.5 million on its release last year, so it will come as no surprise that they are planning a sequel to the film, with Wan and Whannell in negotiations to return to helm and write respectively.
Jason Blum will produce the film and Momentum Pictures will distribute the film in the UK. Another successful franchise in the mix then for Wan and Whannell, the boys who gave birth to the SAW franchise all those years ago.
Wan will next work on THE CONJURING, so we expect INSIDIOUS 2 to be his next project after that. More news as and when.
