With Director Pete Travis promising to stick to the original source material that never reveals Dredd’s face (something Danny Cannon’s Stallone-starring misfire disagreed with), this is closest we are going to get, to seeing Mega City One’s fiercest law-enforcer.
The latest attempt at bringing Judge Dredd to the big-screen, has RED and STAR TREK star Karl Urban don the famous helmet. 1995’s comedic and cartoon violence is expected to be replaced with some brutal realistic harshness via a script from 28 DAYS LATER’s Alex Garland.
DREDD is set to be released 14th of September and co-stars Lena Headey, Olivia Thirlby, Domhnall Gleeson and Deobia Oparei.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
