We all know James McAvoy can convince as an physical ‘bad-ass’ after roles in WANTED, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND. His next film, WELCOME TO THE PUNCH, will see him star as London detective Max Lewinsky.
When ex-criminal Jacob Sternwood is forced to return to London from his Icelandic hideaway when his son is involved in a heist gone wrong. This gives detective Max Lewinsky one last chance to catch the man he’s always been after. As they face off, they start to uncover a deeper conspiracy they both need to solve in order to survive.
Here we have the first image from the film. With superb support talent including the likes of Peter Mullan, Andrea Riseborough, David Morrissey and Daniel Mays, Eran Creevy’s film could be one to watch out for upon its release in September.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
