Monty Python To Reunite For Absolutely Anything
The knights sat at the round table of comedy look to be making an unexpected return to cinema screens for ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING, a science-fiction farce directed by Terry Jones, but not necessarily the Monty Python we’re all used to. ‘It’s not a Monty Python picture,’ said Jones, ‘but it certainly has that sensibility.’
The plot centres on a band of aliens who exploit a human being as their plaything, giving him infinite power and watching as his inability to control such endowment begins to cause chaos. This all despite the astute advice from a talking dog named Dennis, to be voiced by Robin Williams.
The much loved troupe including Michael Palin, John Cleese and Terry Gilliam are all signed on to the film, with Eric Idle said to be aware of the project but unconfirmed.
Since their final film THE MEANING OF LIFE (1983) we have seen the surviving members of the Python gang at the 1998 Aspen Comedy Festival, but with ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING to start filming in the UK this summer it looks like there’s still some life left in Brian after all.
