It has a bonkers premise that borders on brilliance, and now we have a new trailer for the nazi-attack-from-space epic IRON SKY. Looking similar in style to the box-office flop SKY CAPTAIN & THE WORLD OF TOMORROW, the film will première at the Berlin International Film Festival on 11th February.
Still looking for US distribution, IRON SKY’s plot has the surviving leaders of The Third Reich hiding out on the moon since the end of World War II. Whilst there, plans are put into place to take their revenge with a surprise attack on the world in 2018, (Did I mention it was a bonkers idea?) Finnish director Timo Vuorensola appears to have taken the infamous Nazi-themed, cult exploitation genre from the 1970s and given it a futuristic overhaul that could outrage and entertain in equal measure.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
