Fans of J.J. Abrams STAR TREK reboot had been waiting anxiously for news of a follow-up. The last few weeks have finally confirmed that the sequel will soon begin shooting with Abrams, one again at the helm. Also confirmed is that all of the original Enterprise cast will return, alongside SHERLOCK star Benedict Cumberbatch as the lead villian after Benicio Del Toro declined.
More casting news today has announed 24 actress Nazneen Contractor will appear as the wife of Noel Clarke’s (recently announced) character. Contractor appeared in the final season of 24 as Kayla Hassan and will also join ROBOCOP’s Peter Weller and MEN IN BLACK 3 actress Alice Eve in the sequel due for release summer 2013.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
