The 2011 hit comedy is returning as screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein have closed the deal to create HORRIBLE BOSSES 2.
It is also expected that stars of the original Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis will be returning and New Line studio is in early talks for the return of director Seth Gordon.
HORRIBLE BOSSES was released in the UK 22 July, and since then grossed at $209 million, a success from the $35 million it was made for. Therefore it is hardly surprising that the studio are keen to make a sequel.
The original story saw Bateman, Day and Sudeikis on the quest to get rid of their bosses; Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell and Kevin Spacey. It is unlikely given the outcome of the film that Farrell and Spacey will make an appearance in the second.
It was the first paring of Daley and Goldstein however the duo have worked on other projects since. BURT WONDERSTONE is New Line’s upcoming comedy starring Steve Carrell and Jim Carey and is predicted to be a success and they have also written a sequel to CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS (2009).
Let’s hope the pair can be as successful with HORRIBLE BOSSES 2. Watch this space.
