Rumours are circulating that THE HANGOVER’s Bradley Cooper could be appearing in Zack Synder’s Superman reboot MAN OF STEEL. The film is currently shooting with IMMORTALS’ Henry Cavill as the iconic superhero and with the great Michael Shannon (an inspired choice) as lead villian General Zod, (previously played by the equally superb Terrence Stamp in Richard Lester’s superior sequel) the role of arch-nemesis Lex Luther looked the have been kept for possible future sequels.
The character of Luther appeared in earlier drafts of the current film’s script, but was thought to have been left out in favour of taking Superman on a different route with Zod. Now things may be about to change, with Cooper’s warring angels epic PARADISE LOST temporarily postponed, it may have made room for Snyder to cast him in a cameo as Lex Luther. No confirmation has been given by the Warner Bros studio, but if the rumours are true and MAN OF STEEL is a hit at the box-office, Cooper will no doubt appear as a major part of any sequel.
MAN OF STEEL is due in cinemas 14th June 2013 and co-stars Russell Crowe, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Christopher Meloni, Ayelet Zurer and Laurence Fishburne.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
