It’s still a few months away yet but JOHN CARTER has to be one of the most highly-anticipated visual events of 2012.
Directed by Andrew Stanton and adapted from the Edgar Rice Burroughs book, JOHN CARTER tells of… er, John Carter, a Civil War vet who finds himself transported to the planet Barsoom, where he has to tackle some hefty barbarian types and save a princess. Standrad stuff then.
When THN caught some footage at Empire Big Screen earlier this year, the digital trickery and 3D were nothing short of stunning. JOHN CARTER looks to be pure action-adventure brilliance, and as this concept art reveals, an absolute visual feast.
The concept art outlines the vision for the planet Barsoom, which was realised in Utah’s Zion National Park.
JOHN CARTER stars Taylor Kitsch, Bryan Cranston, Mark Strong, Dominic West, Thomas Haden Church, Lynn Collins, James Purefoy, and Polly walker. It arrives in cinemas 9th March 2012.
