With his new film THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO set to hit UK cinemas on Boxing Day, Daniel Craig is very prominent on the publicity trail, while almost simulataneously shooting the next James Bond adventure, SKYFALL. We’ve seen ‘Dragon Tattoo,’ and it’s bloody aces (full review coming soon).
So, here’s the Craig-related news. In an interview with People magazine, 007 producer Michael G. Wilson has been quoted as saying that he really, really wants Craig to sign up for a role in the 007 fanchise, for another FIVE movies! That would take his total haul to seven pictures in the franchise and making him the longest serving Bond ever, beating off Roger Moore by one movie.
“Daniel’s been a terrific Bond, a superb actor and a terrific man. The fans love him and I don’t think there’s a better actor to play the part.” Wilson said.
“I’d love Daniel to surpass Roger’s record and do eight pictures. A lot of people have said Daniel’s been their favourite Bond since Sean Connery and I can’t argue with them. He’s doing a great job.”
There is no deal in place at the moment, and no money on the table let alone Craig actually accepting the gig, but its certainly an entertaining prospect, and I certainly did Craig as Bond.
In related news, The Daily Mail are reporting that all six Bonds (that’s Sean Connery, Roger Moore, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton ad Pierce Brosnan, as well as Craig) could get together next year in time for the 50th anniversary of the release of the first movie DR. NO.
We’re trying to find a way for fans to celebrate with us because they’ve been the reason the Bond films have been the success they have.’
