Robert Redford In Talks With Margin Call’s J.C. Chandor

Robert Redford is in early talks to star in the new upcoming J.C. Chandor drama ALL IS LOST. The movie is said to be a man vs. nature drama that takes place on the water. Its focus on a single character vaguely resembles JEREMIAH JOHNSON, one of Redford’s previous films, where a heroic character braves nature to survive.

This will be Chandor’s second movie, following this year’s financial drama-thriller debut MARGIN CALL. It has been reported that production would start next May at the Baja Film Studios in Mexico, the epicentre of film hits such as James Cameron’s TITANIC and Michael Bay’s PEARL HARBOR.

The one-man show was written around Redford himself, after Chandor met him at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. Like MARGIN CALL, the film will be produced by Zachary Quinto’s production company Before the Door, while Glen Basner’s FilmNation, Cassian Elwes and Laura Lister have already begun making approaches to distributors.

Redford’s next movie THE COMPANY YOU KEEP, where he stars opposite Anna Kendrick, Shia LaBeouf and Nick Nolte, is out late 2012.
