Have Transformers Stars Confirmed Statham’s Involvement?

We all know by now that TRANSFORMERS franchise lead Shia Labeouf will not be returning to the blockbusting series as hero Sam Witwicky. Rumours have been rife for a while now that Brit beefcake Jason Statham was to appear in the expected back-to-back shooting of a fourth and fifth entry. Now with the use of Twitter, could the franchises co-stars Tyrese Gibson and Ken Jeong given fans an indication of ‘The Staths’ casting? Have a read and judge for yourselves.

Gibson commented: @kenjeong Good seeing you last night bro. 1.1 Billion again welcome to the #TF3family you are funny as s—!!!!!!!! JS is up next!!” With Jeong replying: @Tyrese GREAT seeing you last night as well!! #TF3familyrules!!! JS baby!!!

So is ‘JS’ confirmation of Jason Statham as the new star of future battles between the Autobots and the Decepticons? We can only speculate but it certainly backs up the rumours. Michael Bay is apparently on board once again after agreeing a deal with Paramount to fund his passion project PAIN OR GAIN in return to helm the box-office blockbusting franchise.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
