I think that that headline says it all. Yes, after bringing three very commercially successful TRANSFORMER films to the big screen, Steven Spielberg, the bearded one who executive produced all of them, wants Michael Bay to grab hold of his big megaphone for a fourth movie in the series.
Spielberg was out and about and was caught by Entertainment Weekly, who spoke to him about a potential TRANSFORMERS 4.
“I hope [that there will be a fourth film], because I think he made the best of the three with this last one. I certainly can’t imagine anybody other than Michael being equipped to make another Transformers. He’s invented a genre and he’s got the secret formula.”
So, that’s great news. Right? Okay, so I didn’t bother with the last two movies, but so long as you guys keep going to see them, they will continue to make them. Basic supply and demand.
Seems that Bay is up for it too. When asked of the possibility at the opening of a Transformers theme park ride in Asia, the director had this to say:
“How did I know someone’s going to ask me this question today? We’re talking about it, but there’s nothing right now. I’m going to do a tiny movie first, then we’ll talk about it, if I potentially do it.”
He will do it, but, do we need another TRANSFORMERS movie in our lives? I mean, really?
Discuss.
