Officer Murphy himself Peter Weller has joined the cast of JJ Abrams’ planned sequel STAR TREK 2. Already cast in the movie as the bad guy, rumoured to be Khan, is Benicio Del Toro and Alice Eve, alongwith returnees Chris Pine, Anton Yelchin, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Simon Pegg. There are absolutely no details on the role that Weller will play in the movie, due for release in 2013, at the source article over at Variety, however, this looks likely to be one hell of a movie, with one hell of a cast.
This will be Weller’s first major movie since erm, THE SIN EATER all of the way back in 2003. Since then he’s turned up in the hit Fox show 24, Fringe, and the superb Dexter.
STAR TREK 2 will be released on 17th May 2013.
