Although we knew Brit actor Ben Whishaw (LAYER CAKE) was joining the cast of the new 007 outing SKYFALL, up until now we didn’t know much or indeed anything about the character he would be playing. The 31 year-old actor who gave an excellent performance as the lead in PERFUME: THE STORY OF A MURDERER will be playing fans favourite Q.
Previously played by the late Desmond Llewelyn in 17 Bond adventures and finally John Cleese in Pierce Brosnan’s last Bond film DIE ANOTHER DAY, fans will be happy to see a regular oo7 character back in Daniel Craig’s third feature as her Majesty’s finest MI6 agent.
SKYFALL is currently shooting and is due for release 26th October 2012.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
