Patrick Jean’s PIXELS has been given a confirmed release date of May 17, 2013 by Sony Pictures. Originally a web short released in 2010, it went viral with its 1980s style computer graphics as pixels escape into the real world and cause havoc in New York City.
The early rumours of plot were described as a ‘GHOSTBUSTERS’ blend of action and comedy but this is yet to be confirmed. It will be produced by Happy Madison for the big screen, which is Adam Sandler’s production company and we guess there will be comparisions of WHO FRAMES ROGER RABBIT in terms of the animation/real world mix. There’s a while to go on this one so in the meantime simply enjoy the incredible, awesome short where this all started:
