Hollywood veteran John Lithgow has joined the cast of the comedy DOG FIGHT from MEET THE PARENTS and AUSTIN POWERS director Jay Roach. The film is based over at Warner Brothers, and stars Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis as two rival politicians running for a congressional seat in a small North Carolina district election.
Jason Sudeikis, Dylan McDermott, Sarah Baker and Katherine LaNasa also star in the film, based on a screenplay by Chris Henchy and Shawn Harwell. Ferrell and Adam McKay are producing the film, reuniting after successes with the likes of ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND OF RON BURGUNDY and TALLADEGA NIGHTS: THE BALLAD OF RICKY BOBBY.
Lithgow starred in this year’s RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES and is currently out and about plugging his recently released autobiography.
