Come on, we all love a bit of Jason Statham, don’t we? He’s a double-hard geezer he loves kicking arse and taking names, and if this latest trailer is anything to go by, he’s looking to continue his run of satisfactory action films.
In SAFE he plays Luke Wright, an ex-cop who finds himself as the sole protector of a 12-year old girl with a brilliant memory. So brilliant in fact, that she has a safe combination pugged away in her brain-box, ensuring a whole heap of unwanted and dangerous attention from Triads, Russian mobsters, and corrupt NYPD officers.
Luckily for her, fighting off that lot is all in a day’s work for The Stath. And from the looks of this trailer, his Russian is better than his American accent.
SAFE is directed by Boaz Yakin and co-stars Chris Sarandon, Anson Mount, James Hong, and Reggie Lee. It arrives in cinemas March 2012.
