Check out the magical looking new poster (with an obvious nod to Harold Lloyd) for a very different looking Martin Scorcese film. HUGO will be the critically acclaimed directors first foray into the world of 3D, shot using 3D cameras and not the sometimes terrible looking post conversion technique.
Based on the Brian Selznick novel The Invention of Hugo Caberet, HUGO will follow the title character played by Asa Butterfield who lives in the walls of a Parisian train station during the 1930’s, and becomes involved a magical journey that involves his late father and automaton.
The film stars Asa Butterfield, Chloe Moretz, Jude Law, Johnny Depp, Ray Winstone, Ben Kingsley, Sacha Baron Cohen and is released in the UK on 2nd December 2011.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
