Actor James McAvoy who you may recognise from films such as WANTED, ATONEMENT and THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND is now a favourite to play the fabulous Sir Elton John in an upcoming biocpic.
The illustrious musician plans to portray his life in a captivating on screen adaptation, which will be named ROCKETMAN. He will act as producer and will work with partner David Furnish but the couple aren’t going it alone though as they will be creating the film with BILLY ELLIOT writer Lee Hall.
Additional producer Steve Hamilton intends for the film to provide a defining portrayal of Elton’s life with an aim to show all sides of him as “an artist, musician and man.”
It’ll certainly be interesting to see McAvoy’s interpretation of Elton and to see if/how he performs many of the singers hit songs that will no doubt appear in the film. It will also be great to see him wear silly glasses.
