Snoop Dogg has wangled the role of playing legendary blues guitarist Fillmore Slim in the upcoming movie THE LEGEND OF FILLMORE SLIM.
Slim started his music career in the 50s but was enticed by the prospect of large-living playing in the pimp game. Slim was a big name from the 60s to 70s in San Francisco and often referred to as ‘The West Coast Godfather of the Game’ and ‘The Pope of Pimping’. Slim made a return to music in the 1980s and is now touring at the ripe old age of 77. No other than the D-O-Double-G will portray his life story in the upcoming biopic.
Snoop himself has been affiliated with similar themes and to some is known as ‘Tha Doggfather’. Snoop has already played an antagonising pimp in the cartoon KING OF THE HILL so perhaps it’s likely he will be able to deliver a good performance.
Hawthorne James (The bus driver in SPEED) will be directing a screenplay penned by himself and Carole Parker. Pre-production will begin in December in preparation for a March production.
