Hudgens Joins Cusack And Cage On Frozen Ground

Vanessa Hudgens seems to be trying to distance herself from her HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL days after supporting turns in this years SUCKER PUNCH and BEASTLY, it appears the 23 year-old maybe turning towards more serious projects lately. Along with her role in next years drama GIMME SHELTER, as a teen thrown out on the streets by her father after becoming pregnant, deadline reports that the actress has been cast as the surviving victim to John Cusack’s (THE RAVEN) serial-killer that aids Nicolas Cage’s (FACE/OFF) cop to his capture in FROZEN GROUND.

The film, based on true events, chronicles the 12 year search for serial-killer Robert Hansen, who kidnapped and murdered up to 24 women during the seventies and eighties after flying them out to the Alaskan wilderness to kill and bury their bodies in a twisted game of human-hunting.

FROZEN GROUND is written and directed by Scott Walker and is due for release late next year.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
