There’s something intriguing waiting from director and writer Nacho Vigalondo. A teaser trailer for Spanish-language film EXTRATERRESTRE starring Michelle Jenner and Julian Villagran has landed and is surging waves of interest through THN HQ and beyond.
With echoes of MONSTERS and its distinctly independent feel, everyone is thrown into the story of two strangers, Julio and Julie. We join them in an apartment, in what feels like a ‘morning after’ and suddenly the news of an alien invasion sparks into life from the television set.
Vigalondo previously gave us his debut TIMECRIMES and with EXTRATERRESTRE we’re led to anticipate science fiction, black comedy and no doubt a hint of romance all rolled in together. Judging by this snippet of an introduction in this teaser, it could conceivably be a story where aliens aren’t the main focus but still a substantial factor in how these characters lives develop. Interesting work, indeed!
