Production begins next month on the sequel to THE EXPENDABLES, and Deadline have reported that Bruce Willis and The Governator are set to ‘substantially’ expand on their cameos from the first film. Apart from recent news that Chuck Norris, JCVD and some third guy have been signed for roles, no other actors have been confirmed as of yet, but many of the original film’s cast are likely to return. With Stallone stepping down from the directors chair to focus on acting and writing, Simon West (CON AIR, LARA CROFT: TOMB RAIDER) has been recruited for directing duties.
Currently filming scenes for G.I. JOE 2, Bruce Willis seems to have sequel fever as he plans to shoot DIE HARD 5 and RED 2 after wrapping up THE EXPENDABLES 2. The long absent Schwarzenegger has Jee-Woon Kim’s (THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE WEIRD) Western, THE LAST STAND, in his sights for 2012/2013.
